A century-old society meets its host for 2026
The 92nd conference brings the country's oldest mathematical body to a young, region-spanning university — two institutions with very different founding stories, aimed at the same goal.
The Indian Mathematical Society
The IMS is the oldest mathematical society in India. It hosts its annual conference in a different part of the country each year — this, the 92nd, runs at South Asian University, New Delhi, from December 23 to 26, 2026, built around keeping pace with the field's most recent advances.
Founded by V. Ramaswami Aiyar, the society has spent well over a century supporting mathematicians, researchers, teachers and students through conferences, lectures, publications and awards.
South Asian University, New Delhi
SAU is an international university established by the member countries of SAARC. It offers postgraduate and doctoral programmes across mathematics, computer science, economics, legal studies, international relations, sociology and biotechnology.
Its campus brings together students and faculty from across South Asia, and the university plays an active role in strengthening academic collaboration and research throughout the region — a fitting host for an international mathematics meet.
